Idly Podi


Hi there! This is my first post. I am sharing this recipe with the thought that it will be helpful for people like me who started cooking after getting married and started to learn from scratch. Hope you enjoy the process of cooking as much as the pleasure of eating it. 


Ingredients

1. Urad dal - 100 g
2. Red chilli - 8 numbers
3. Garlic pods - 3 or 4
4. Salt - as required 
5. Asafoetida - little
6. Oil - a few drops ( I used sesame oil)

Method

1. Fry urad dal with 2 drops of oil.
2. After 3/4th of the dal is fried, add red chillies.
3. Fry garlic separately and add to urad dal. If you don't like the taste of garlic you can omit.
4. Transfer to a plate and add salt.
5. Once cooled, grind it mixie with little asafoetida.

Enjoy this podi with idly, dosa or with any dish of your choice.
